Default Mashed pototo

I love mashed potato and we often have it 50/50 with a mashed vegetable. My favourite is sweet potato with butternut squash with a blob of butter. I did use turnip once but for some reason it had stringy hard fibre bits in it. I think I maybe didn't peel it deep enough. I was impressed by the chef video and will certainly try the mash he cooked.
