Default Swiss Cheese String Beans

2 (10 oz.) packages frozen French cut string beans
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped onions
1 tablespoon flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 pint sour cream
4 ounces Swiss cheese, grated
Almonds, slivered or thinly sliced (small package)

Cook string beans according to package directions. Drain WELL!

Make a cream sauce by melting butter over low heat and adding onion, flour, sugar, salt, and sour cream.

In a casserole layer beans, sauce, cheese, and almonds. REPEAT with almonds ending up on top. Bake in preheated 350 oven for about 25 minutes.

Note: Makes enough for 4 - 6 people. I fix this in the winter when it's hard to find good fresh string beans.
