We only buy unsalted butter now too, once you get on it, you can't go back! I also use Pink Himalayan sea salt which in itself is a wonderful flavor so I like to add my own salt too things.

I used unsalted in most food preparation, but really prefer the salted kind on toast or rolls. Just a matter of personal taste I guess.

Unsalted butter is fresher because the flavor cannot be masked with the taste of salt. So the freshest cream is used to make unsalted butter. Buy the unsalted variety.

In the UK most people eat low fat spreads, as there are lots to choose from. Most supermarkets only have a choice of Anchor butter or Lurpak. I assume as it doesn't state non salted it must be salted! I know its bad for you but it does taste really good. A slice of hot toast just isn't the same without it.
