Default At what point is something too spicy?

I must admin down south we have a high tolerance. But I think it gets too spicy depending on what you eat. Like if your at a crawfish boil and your lips aren't on fire and your not crying then the crawfish isn't spicy enough!

But if your eating a fajita and the sauce it overwhelming spicy it's too much!

If my lips are on fire then its too spicy.

When things are really spicy I end up with hiccups!

I love it spicy. I think it's according to the person. I know people that can't stand ANY heat in their food and I know some that can't get it hot enough. On a scale of one to ten with one being mild and 10 being spicy ... I'm about an 8. Hey Rex ... you should turn this into a poll!

I can't handle any spice anymore.

But DH sure can. Whenever they ask him on a scale of 1 to 5 how he wants something done - he'll say "make it 7 - I like it real spicey"!!

If it's so spicy I'm thinking about how hot it is rather than how it tastes, that's too much. And I'm finding my tolerance for "heat" is dropping!
