Please excuse my ignorance, but what is Pam? Maybe I do know and it's called something different in the UK.

It is a spray pan coating-- non stick alternative to oil. In US commercial kitchens it is called Bake release, or waffle off. It is usually aerosol. Use it instead of greasing and flouring pans, or to avoid using fats when pan frying.
It works terrific and has multiple applications.

Originally I never used Pam -- but the last few months, I seem to be using it at least once a week.

I am sold on it now.

They have Olive Oil, and special ones for grilling and baking. But I don't know if those last two have different flavors or are just formulated to account for different types of heat sources.

I use it to spray oven baked fries after they come out of the oven then salt..it holds the salt or seasonings on the baked fries.

I don't taste much butter in the butter spray - I am a butter freak and can tell the difference.
