Default What's the worst customer service you ever had?

Seems like my husband and I are doomed to horrible service. When we DO get great service I make sure to tip well and take the time to ask for a manager to compliment the exceptional service. However, we all have had times when you just wanted to get up and walk out (maybe you did!). What has been your worst dining customer service experience?

My worst customer service experience happened in Asia. I was in a former Soviet country in Central Asia for a year doing volunteer work.

Maybe it's a holdover from Soviet times, but people there do not know what customer service is. I don't mean that to sound bad, just factual. They don't have any concept of it. If you want something (including your check) you have to get up and go find a waitress, or flag one down if they happen to be passing in visual range. We got used to it by the end of the year, but we had a 24-hour layover in London on the way home, and it felt so good to go to a restaurant and have someone actually come to our table and ask us if we needed anything!

One of our local restaurants. We just wanted to stop in for a quick drink and a quick snack so we decided to sit at the bar. The girl bar tender was toooo interested in the men. After ignoring us and we loudly announced that a letter was going to be sent to the manager. She turned red faced and said she would take care of us. We told her not to bother and walked out. Shortly after we sent the letter the restaurant closed!!
