Default International recipes suitable for kids

Just got a flyer for the end of the year party for the fourth graders. Each kid is supposed to make a poster and bring in a dish for their culture. So I need to find a recipe (very simple) for some food from Romania, Russia, Latvia, Lituania (a grandfather, great grandparents are from these areas). Does anyone have any idea of something (again, simple) that I can make?

I googled for Romania and recipes and am now checking the first site: a bit unreadable and incomplete. I'm guessing that maybe these are translated and when there are quantities (mostly not included), they are in metric.

Found recipe, actually more than one with all sorts of variations, for papanasi, which are dessert cheese fritters. So was trying it out. Not sure if I did it right, so will have to buy some more cream cheese to try again tomorrow.
