I prefer gas because it's easier to use, but at times wish I still had charcoal. Some things just seem to taste better after charcoal grilling.

That is so true, Peggy. We cook on a natural gas grill, but I do have an old Webber that we can fire up if we want. Steaks seem to taste better when cooked over charcoal, although I'm not sure why as charcoal is odorless and flavorless.

Gas is easier but I do like the taste of food cooked over charcoal.

We finally succumbed to the convenience of gas two years ago. We stuck with charcoal for years preferring the taste of the food (and the smell) over gas. Gas is just so much easier...... and we're getting older

Threw the gas one in the trash a couple years ago. It's much easier to buy charcoal than propane, and the taste is so much better, IMHO.
