I never worry about spills, or something that can be cleaned up.
I grew up with an uncle however, that broke a piece of china or glassware at almost every holiday dinner we had, until my mom bought a service for four of larger sturdier goblets and dinnerware that complemented her special china, and we called the "Manly" dishes. I don't know if my uncle didn't see well, or what, but today my mothers service of twelve which was left to my sis has 11 plates, 10 dessert bowls, 9 soup plates, 11 dessert plates, and 10 each, cups and saucers. There are twelve salad plates. Maybe he didn't like salad!! |
