Appetizers..............how many "bites"?

When you do a cocktail party, how many pieces of appetizers per person do you allow?

If I have 6 different appetizers and I know that we are having a big dinner complete with dessert, then I plan on 2 or 3 of each type per person depending on the size of the appetizer.

If it is strickly an after dinner get together, more appetizers per person and I usually have about 8 - 10 different items.

Even on evenings when I set out sandwiches and coffee before everyone goes home.

I usually do the same thing as Yonnie--depending on the type of gathering, I'll put 2-3 pcs per person with about 3-5 offerings for a dinner party and if it is JUST cocktails & appetizers, between 7-10 offerings and about 4-6 pcs per person.

It's something I really do enjoy!!! I guess I am like my Mother, she loved it too!!!! We always had great parties when I was growing up.

I had one of those homes where all my friends always wanted to visit!!! We had cool parents!
