Are you doing the self-diet or are you also getting the south beach entres from the store? Some of them are pretty good!

When I do calorie restriction, it comes down fast at first and then the rate slows down. I have to keep the water intake and metabolism up (with exercise) to keep losing. I also have to keep my sugar up and take vitamins (keep a real Dr. Pepper in teh car just in case I get a little lightheaded).

3500 calories = 1 real pound. That means with a 500 cal/day deficit, you can loose one pound per week. That why I know that most of the 3 lbs I lost since yesterday were either water weight or food weight.

BTW - I call this "The 3rd Grade Math Diet"!

Drink 8 or more ounces of water, wait 15 minutes, and see if you still want to eat.

It's the only way to deal with my mid-evening munchies.

I was down one more pound this morning but had a bad day diet wise. I was running late and did a fast food breakfast sandwhich, I skipped lunch but went to a dinner meeting/presentation tonight and pigged out. Back at it tomorrow.

Tonight we went out for dinner and I got to wear a pair of slacks one size smaller than the ones I wore yesterday! And they weren't tight!

That's how I have to measure weight loss as we don't have a scale. I also can't count calories, although when I needed to lower my cholesterol I could have told you how many calories were in a gram of fat, protein, carbohydrates and alcohol!

This has been a very slow gradual weight loss caused by a reduction in intake. But that reduction has been gradual as well. Today I probably eat half of what I was eating a year ago. But a year ago I was clearly overeating. As soon as I could convince myself that it was okay if I didn't clean my plate, I started making real progress. And it seemed that the less I ate at each meal, the less I wanted.

And I can still enjoy good food of all types, just not a lot of it.

Good luck everyone, may all your plans pay off!

Susan

Eating "Dreamfileds" pasta instead of regular pasta. It has less digestible Carbs.
