Chocolate Cherry Bars Chocolate Cherry Bars 1 package any good devil’s food cake mix 1 21 ounce can cherry pie filling 1 teaspoon almond extract 2 eggs, beaten Frosting: 1 cup sugar 5 tablespoons butter 1/3 cup milk 1 cup (6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate bits Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 15 inch by 10 inch jelly roll pan or a 13 by 9 inch pan. Combine the last four ingredients. Stir by hand until well mixed. Pour into pan. Bake 20 - 30 minutes depending on size of pan. Combine sugar, butter and milk. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Remove from haet. Stir in chocolate bits until smooth. Pour over warm bars. Cut into squares when cool. |
