Default Hot Crab Dip

Hot Crab Dip

Melt together in the top of a double boiler:
½ cup mayonnaise
3 large packages of cream cheese

Add:
Garlic salt to taste
2 Tablespoons prepared mustard
¼ cup dry sauterne wine
2 packages frozen king crab meat thawed
OR
2 cans crab meat drained.

Serve hot in chafing dish with your favorite crackers or dipping chips.

There are many types of Mayo substitutes. From plain yogurt, to creme fraiche, to blended low fat cottage cheese, to "soy" versions. Or light or Free Mayo if it is the fat you are avoiding, or ranch dressing, or buttermilk, or even mashed avocado, except it wouldn't melt. Same with hummus, or dijonaisse.

Good luck!! This is a yummy dip.

It all depends on the recipe, as to what might work best.
