There is also a food slicer that I use. It is not a mandoline, but it is great for slicing potatoes, tomatoes and onions and the like. It is made by a German firm, Borner (I don't know haw to put the two dots above the o, but they should go there) and only cost about $20 at Chefs when I bought it. I was surprised at how often I use that little thing! Susan
